Himayat helped me navigate my complex plan reassessment.

Forced to flee northern Afghanistan, Shahrukh arrived in Australia in 2021. He joined IKEA’s Refugee Workforce Inclusion program, where his creative talents were showcased.
But after a short design stint, he returned to logistics and struggled to find work in his field for three years.
Then Himayat stepped in — offering a paid role and helping him build a path to sustainable creative work. Shahrukh now supports migrant businesses in Canberra, and has finally quit IKEA to pursue his dreams full-time.

Through Himayat, I was able to receive supportive and comfortable care at home.

Habiba lost her arm in childhood due to war. Although she’s been on the NDIS for years, the funding for her prosthetic went untouched for seven years.
No one ever asked why she hadn’t received it — no one considered the language barrier or took time to understand her needs.
After we connected her with the right specialist who listened, assessed, and advocated for her, Habiba is finally on the path to using both hands again.

Farah, a local nurse and refugee, dreamed of starting a business to help others like her — but was misled by costly marketing advice that didn’t bring clients.
When she came to Himayat, we saw her fire. We offered simple, honest guidance and connected her with the right people and partners.
Within a week, Farah had her first three clients. Today, she’s expanded her services beyond the ACT, supporting participants across NSW.

Miriam worked two jobs—caring for her NDIS client by day and cleaning by night—yet wasn’t paid a cent. Her employer stole her wages, but she kept showing up.
When we found out, we stepped in. At her request, we employed her directly—then back-paid her for every unpaid shift, hour, and act of care.
Today, Miriam is no longer surviving — she’s thriving with a team that values, protects, and honours her.
